Refuge Ridge Environmental Education

At Refuge Ridge we believe that our environment should be a priority. After all, if we destroy the planet, we won’t be around to worry about anything else.  Our wolf and wolfdog residents help people learn to see predators as a vital part of our eco-system and understand the importance of maintaining wild spaces.

About Us

Our Mission

Twenty years ago we first walked on to this mountain. Walked because the long giant red mud pit, that might have once been a road, wasn’t passable. With no electricy, no running water and our typical inability to bow to logic we acquired the property that would be the beginning of Refuge Ridge.

Now Refuge Ridge serves as home to several rescued wolfdogs, and dogs. As well as providing a safe place for local wildlife to live in peace. Our mission is to provide education on the importance of protecting the environment, including predator education, providing tips for green living, and encouraging the humane treatment of all animals, pets and wildlife alike.

Resident Animals

Refuge Ridge provides sanctuary for wolves, wolfdogs, as well as a variety of wildlife that live within it borders.

Spoiled rotten, they have come to expect lots of treats, toy and attention. You can click here to learn more about our resident wolfdogs.

Environmental Education

One of the most effective things that we can do to help the planet is to change our own actions. By choosing reusables whenever possible we can have a startling effect on our footprint.

Reusable water bottles, travel mugs, shopping bags and even straws all drastically reduce the amount of trash created on a daily basis and are simple enough even I managed to implement them.

Latest from the Blog

You can check out our blog to keep up to date with the latest news from Refuge Ridge. Oh who am I kidding. I don’t update this near as often as I should. I’d smack myself in the nose with a newspaper except I don’t believe in training that way.

But I do promise to try and be better about that from now on. You can also check us out on social media. Several of us work on that so it is less likely to fall through the cracks.
